Mark E. Betzen, P.C. Of Counsel

Mark Betzen advises and assists companies and their directors with respect to a variety of transactional and compliance matters.  After ascertaining his clients’ objectives and sensitivities, he endeavors to develop and implement solutions that are practical, effective, and efficient. Having practiced for more than 30 years, Mark has substantial experience in a variety of transactional matters, including transformative mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, public and private securities offerings, and significant financing and recapitalization transactions.  He also has substantial experience in corporate governance and compliance matters, particularly in relation to fiduciary duties, corporate disclosures, and the federal securities laws.  He gained much of this experience by helping clients to navigate and overcome challenges associated with shareholder activism, unsolicited acquisition proposals, conflicts of interest, financial distress, and other difficult circumstances. Companies (or the boards or committees of directors thereof) and financial services firms for which Mark has served as legal counsel include Affiliated Computer Services, Acxiom, Albertsons, Alon USA Energy, Cisco Systems, Credit Suisse, Dell, Dow Corning, EXCO Resources, Gillette, Granite Construction, J.C.
